[Press Release – Limerick, Monday 13th May]
Limerick to Host 2019 Sports Technology Innovation Conference and Awards.
SportsTech Ireland, the not-for-profit initiative based in Ireland’s Mid-West that aims to position Ireland as a leading destination for sports technology and innovation, has confirmed that following the success of its 2018 conference, the organisation will host the 2019 Sports Technology Conference and Awards on the 12th and 13th of September, in Limerick.
The 2019 event will put a special focus on Ireland and the US, focusing on organisations at all levels that have – or seek to – successfully scale along the transatlantic corridor. The event will build on last year with the addition of Ireland’s first sportstech awards, which will celebrate the excellence and innovation of Irish-based organisations in the application of data and technology across the full spectrum of sport.
The two day event will bring startups, multi-nationals, sporting organisations, founders and partners from the US, Europe and Ireland together in Ireland’s Mid-West, with featured panels on key verticals of special relevance to the Irish market, including golf and rugby technology, sports and adventure tourism, fan engagement, performance data and performance analytics. More information, including speakers and a detailed lineup will be announced later in the summer.
SportsTech Ireland was founded in 2017 by three Limerick-based technology professionals to help build the sportstech ecosystem in Ireland. Partners and supporters of SportsTech Ireland include Limerick City and County Council, the IDA, UL, Deloitte Ireland, CPL, the Ross Business School, Michigan, Stadia Ventures, LeAD Berlin and London Sport, among others.
